You be the Judge

Everyone attending the BBQ competition on Saturday will have a chance to “put your money where your mouth is“ and judge delicious BBQ from the professional teams. You will learn the secrets of official BBQ judges and the criteria they use when judging to determine for yourself who’s butt is the best.

Here’s how it works: All teams submit a boston butt on Saturday morning.  Beginning at noon, you can sample BBQ from five teams and determine which butt has the best  appearance, texture, taste and other criteria you’ve learned from the pros.  You will cast your votes for who you think is best and the team with the most votes will be announced as the People’s Choice Winner during the awards presentations at 6:00pm.

The People’s Choice judging is held in the Grand Ol’ Porker Arena located in the Circle of Flags.

$5.00 of each on-line tickets and all tickets purchased on Saturday at the Arena will benefit the Shriners Childrens Hospitals.
